Andy teaching

Award-winning Nashville recording artist, songwriter and classical guitarist Andy Hackbarth holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and spent several summers attending the Aspen Music School. He has studied privately and in Masterclass settings with some the world's most highly-respected musicians, including John Williams, Christopher Parkening, Elliot Fisk, Ricardo Iznaola and Julliard's Sharon Isbin and Kevin Gallagher.

Andy was previously on the Music Faculty at the University of Colorado, where he taught guitar, theory and songwriting for three years during graduate studies. Andy has worked with children, teens and adults at schools, libraries and community education centers throughout the country. He continues to make outreach opportunities an integral part of his touring schedule.

Andy recently signed with January Records Nashville, who will release his third solo album, "The Last Love Song" on May 21st, 2010 to national press, media and radio. Andy completed a 150-show, eight-month, coast-to-coast tour in 2009, and is currently booking an extensive tour of the West beginning in June, 2010.Andy with kids

Andy is currently based out of Nashville, TN, where he writes and records with some of the biggest names in the music industry. He has opened for Lonestar, Jimmy Wayne, Blue County, Blackhawk, Due West, Katie Armiger and many others.

Andy is the winner of several major competitions, including that of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) and the state and regional Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Andy was also recently a finalist and Honorable Mention Awardee in the International Songwriting Competition (out of over 15,000 applicants).

His song, "We Ain't Done Yet" was featured by Major League Baseball during the World Series and aired on over 40 major radio stations in the West. Andy is the co-founder of "Songs for the Cure", a Nashville-based non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cancer.
